Traffic stop leads to meth bust

A traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle led Winnipeg police a drug bust on Tuesday.

Police say they stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Flora Street around 11 p.m. The driver was unable to provide any information on the vehicle or who it belonged to.

A search of the vehicle turned up a large quantity of meth, 65.93 grams valued at $6,500, and other items, including dime bags and a weigh scale.

Police also found a further 12.4 grams of meth on one of the occupants worth $1,240. Another male occupant had a moderate amount of cash on them, which police believe is money stemming from the proceeds of crime.

Danny Davis Ballantyne, 28, along with Vincent Raymond Moneyas, 37, and Jared Daniel Parisian, 29, were charged with several drug-related crimes.

All three men were known to police.

A woman, also an occupant, was charged with possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking. She was released on a promise to appear.
